 Tue. 4/27 - Thurs. 4/29
Budding businesses and those looking for new growth may find the nurturing they need at the Beta Business Park's Spring Leadership in Business Conference.
Beta Business Park will host its second semi-annual gathering from April 24-27 in the virtual world of Second Life. The event provides networking and business development opportunities for people who currently work in virtual worlds, those who want to explore the possibilities, or those who just want to take advantage of professional opportunities without leaving the office.
B2P is seeking expert speakers to present to an audience of business people with a range of knowledge and experience. Attendees represent non-profit, governmental, educational, and private sectors and organizations of all sizes.
Presenters should not limit themselves to virtual world-specific topics and are encouraged to be creative in their subjects but clear and concise in their delivery.
Speaker applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Pacific Time on March 15.
In addition to the networking and shared knowledge benefits, presenters are also given a pass to all conference sessions and a complimentary booth in the expositio
n area. Topics might relate to:
- Virtual World business success stories/testimonials
- Marketing and sales
- Effective communication for business leaders
- Collaboration techniques
- Mentoring in the business environment
- Effective use of Social Media
- Team building
- Recruitment/Retention/Recognition
- Stress management
- Time management
- Dealing with difficult people
- Using interns
Groups that want to exhibit without a presentation may rent an exposition booth for $L500 (approximately $USD2) for the event.
The conference provides a remarkable opportunity to network with a diverse international audience that comes together with a common bond of commerce and growth. The conference will benefit those who have no experience in virtual worlds but want to see what it's all about, those who have a foothold in virtual business but want to explore the full range of possibilities and those who have realized the benefits of a business in Second Life but want to add context and depth to their ideas.
